Seed Packet Resumes – Avoid Being a Can of Beans!!

Seed of a Revolution!

Your resume is like an old friend, eh?  The two of you have been through a lot – and you are still together.  Through all of the rewrites and amendments, you two have stayed strong in your relationship.  Today I am calling for a revolution that will help you land that job – build a seeds packet resume!!

First go to the Grocery Store

Yes, the first step is into your nearby grocery store and look around at all the labels for food that surround you.  The cans and bags all have a picture of what is inside.  That can of beans has a picture of green, ripe and delicious well, beans.  Keep looking around and you have more pictures of what is and what was.  It is comforting in a way, but all around you its more of the same *yawn*.
It is a lot like resumes in that way – pictures of what is and what was – thousands of pictures and the fortunate few ‘connect the dots’ between what the job hunters have done and what the employer is looking for now.

But Wait!  What is that over there?

One special section of some grocery stores have a display that is different!  There are pictures of the things you want but they are on the cover of seed packets.  Inside the package are not beans, but seeds that with the right attention will become beans.  Dozens of beans – MANY more than you would find in a can.  With the right attention and time this is a far greater value – it has POTENTIAL! If this was a resume, a seeds packet resume, it would show the employer what the job hunter COULD do.

How About You?

Stand out from the crowd and connect the dots between what the employer wants and what you can become!  Show how you have grown already in the HERO Method steps –
Heart – That you have learned how to see the world from another’s point of view.
Energy – That you can show that you know how to work hard –
Re-Learning – That you can learn new aspects of that new job
Owning It – That you take responsibility for the decisions you make.

Now Re-Write!
